24x48 $2900 Assorted Cacti- was very fun to paint, with an underlying gold that shines brilliantly when it catches the light.  I have always loved the outdoors and biking on Lost Dog Trail or hiking up to Bell Pass in Scottsdale, I have marveled at all the color and variety of blossoms in the desert.  This painting just touches on a few of those.

\"The Pears Among The Pricks\" was painted at the Celebration of Fine Art show February 2011.  I was able to really explore contast in shade and color while working in a great circular movement.

It is so fun to see primary colors work together in diffrent subjects.  I also used very heavy oils to sculpt out the blossoms on this painting.  It was so much fun to complete.

I love a horizontal composition where you have repeating verticle lines.  The depth in this painting between textures is so powerful.  In the last art show I caught several people wanting to strum the saguaros.
The colors of the desert are immaculate.  I love how saturated sun sets bounce off red rock and change the world into prisms of color.  Saguaros are particularly effected as they stretch high over the ground catching the last momens of sun on their tops as the shadows of the day embrace the world in grey.
